Question to the doctor:

In what cases do they carry out hormonal treatment?

Answer:

Hormonal treatment of prostate cancer is used when the cancer is aggressive and has local spread or metastatic disease.

Prostate cancer is a hormone-dependent tumor that feeds on male sex hormones produced in the testicles. Hormonal therapy is often the best solution for aggressive cancer.

There are two types of hormonal therapy. medical and surgical – removal of testicles.
In localized cases of prostate cancer, surgical or radiation treatment is used, and in metastases, chemotherapeutic treatment is carried out together with hormonal treatment.
